Galectin-8(LGALS8), a member of the galectin gene family, is identified to specifically express in prostate , and is espacially overexpressed in malignant tumors, thereby can be used as an extra specific identifier of malignancies. The gene encoded protein facilitates both cell-cell and cell matrix interactions in a method parallel to the selectin subgroup of C-type lectins.

The protein was lyophilized from a 0.2 µm filtered solution containing 1X PBS, pH 7.4.

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized protein in sterile H2O to a concentration not less than 100 μg/mL and incubate the stock solution for at least 20 min to ensure sufficient re-dissolved.
